The role

Main duties and responsibilities

This is a hands-on design role. You will spend most of your time designing.

  • Design brand identity systems for UK and international clients, including logotypes, typography, colour systems, graphic language, layout systems and the related visual assets.
  • Produce digital and print brand communications — websites, social media content, campaign visuals, presentations, packaging and marketing materials — to a finished artwork standard.
  • Develop creative concepts and visual directions that translate an agreed brand strategy into a distinctive and consistent visual language.
  • Write and maintain brand guidelines and asset libraries, and prepare production-ready artwork for print and digital suppliers.
  • Carry out brand, market, competitor and audience research to inform and support creative and design decisions.
  • Manage design projects from initial client brief and concept development through presentation, refinement and final delivery, working alongside UK-based and international designers, developers and other creative specialists where a project requires it.

Essential requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or above in Graphic Design, Branding, Visual Communication or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrable professional experience in branding, visual identity and graphic design, evidenced by a portfolio of identity systems and applied design work.
  • Expert working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, in particular Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, and of Figma.
  • A thorough understanding of typography, layout, colour and grid systems, and of preparing artwork for print and digital production.
  • The ability to present and explain creative work clearly to clients, and to take a project from brief to final delivery.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Desirable

  • Experience of packaging design, editorial design or motion/animation for brand communication.
  • Experience of working on projects across more than one market or cultural context.
  • Working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese, which would be useful — though not required — given the studio's cross-market client base.
  • Experience of working with external printers, fabricators and digital developers.

What we offer

  • 25 days’ annual leave plus UK public holidays
  • Workplace pension in line with UK auto-enrolment requirements
  • Annual allowance for professional development, conferences and materials
  • Studio-based role in central London with flexible start and finish times
